Hamish Gown

Hamish Gown

6 mm needles 8 ply yarn
I've done it in stripes to add colour and also so I can count my rows :)
When I change colours I just drop the yarn that I am not using and pick it up again the next time it is needed, as the gown is done up at the back you can not see the colour changes unless you look closely and only 4 tails to weave in.  To close the gown I crochet 4 ties, two at the top and two in the middle of the gown.  Special thanks to Lisa B for testing the pattern and also her gorgeous photo.

Lots of ideas

At the moment I have lots of ideas for new items to make, both for charity and possibly to sell.

I love making the charity items because I know how much the families appreciate those items in their time of need. I just wish they were not needed as much as they are.

Today I purchased a takeaway cup of coffee that was too hot, I had some time to use while waiting for my daughter to compete in her school athletics carnival so I made a coffee cup cozy, didn't take long and stopped me burning my fingers.

Another good reason to always have yarn and a hook or needles handy.  I'll see if I can remember what I did to make it so that I can write up the pattern.

Hope everyone is well.  Back to designing some more items.

Itty Bitty Giant Hat Drive

On the 1st of September this year's Itty Bitty Giant Hat drive started. Last year I made 100 hats so of course I decided to do the same again this year too.

I forgot that it was school holidays so that made it a bit more of a challenge but I did it!!

100 little hats, no two are the same, and 35 of them are knitted.

Looking forward to next year's hat drive to do it all again, in the mean time I'll be trying to come up with some new designs for both hats and gowns and practice that knitting.

Remembering all the angels who have passed and who continue to inspire me to make more little items, Halo, Chance, Ebony, Amy and Frankie these are all for you <3
